8.1.3.3 Installation of QGIS
If required, QGIS can be installed from a download from the Internet, e.g. from site www.qgis.org/en/site. This QGIS installation is outside of LUPMIS installation. QGIS can be installed on any folder, as proposed by the QGIS installation routine; recommended folder is C:\OSGeo4W.
To run seamlessly with LUPMIS, a plugin (add-on) is available: 'LUPMIS Tools for QGIS'. Functionalities are explained in the previous Chapter.
This plugin has to be initiated before the first use: In QGIS, call the plugin manager through Plugins > Manage and Install Plugins, then select 'LUPMIS Tools' and tick.
If the plugin 'LUPMIS Tools' is not listed, the LUPMIS_installation routine failed to copy it to the correct folder.
You can copy the necessary folder 'lupmistools' manually
from C:\LUPMIS\LUPMISPrograms\GISUtilities\QGIS
to C:\Users\{your account name}\.qgis2\python\plugins.
It will be automatically recognized by QGIS at start-up.
Technical note: In Windows XP replace subfolder 'Users' in copy command with 'Documents and Settings'.
