8.2.12.2 Satellite Imagery

Process for images which are already installed in LUPMIS:

1. Convert JPG to ECW (many), for each folder (images are already in standard tiles): Drawing > Other GIS Tools > Satellite imagery > Convert JPG to ECW: Many > In separate window: To select a folder, you pick any JPG file in the folder. It will then take all JPG images of this folder > Convert.
2. Index photos/topos: Drawing > Other GIS Tools > Satellite imagery > Index photos/topos (with map)

Process for newly acquired images:

1. Acquire (JPG format) and copy to specific folder
2. If not already in standard tiles: Cut to tiles (--> ECW): Drawing > Other GIS Tools > Satellite imagery > Cut to tiles
3. Index photos/topos: Drawing > Other GIS Tools > Satellite imagery > Index photos/topos (with map)

After an index has been created (necessary for future processing in LUPMIS), you will have the option to display its grid in the GIS or on an Internet maps:
