8.5.2 Entry
Level of expertise required for this Chapter: Intermediate; specifically for LUPMIS @ TCPD
A precondition for the entry of permits is the previous import of parcels from the Local Plan, which is stored in the GIS, as explained in Chapter 8.5.2.4. After you have imported all parcels of a Local Plan into the Permit Database, you can enter an applicant (Chapter 8.5.2.1), edit a parcel (Chapter 8.5.2.2) and enter a new permit (Chapter 8.5.2.3), also enter permit fees (Chapter 8.5.2) and/or import scanned support documents for the application process (Chapter 8.5.2.5).
You start with a new application by entering an applicant. If the applicant is not in the system yet, you add him/her by: Permit Tools > Entry > Applicant / Agent > New / edit applicant > add a new applicant
The fields of surname and first name (if applicant is an individual) or of name (if an institution is applying) are mandatory.
A second applicant ('co-applicant') can be added. If there are more than 2 applicants, the additional can be entered in the same way as applicant, and linked to the parcel through the link box at the top right.
It should be possible at this stage to link the applicant to a parcel. If this is not possible, you can also create a link later from a parcel to this applicant.
If a telephone is entered, the applicant will be informed by SMS text message about his/her application and approval (or rejection, query).
If an applicant is represented by an agent, the agent can be entered in the same way.
If this is a new applicant for a new parcel, the button 'Next' - after having saved - will transfer in a fast way to the entry screen of the parcel (or agent).
Applicants and agents can be retrieved from LUPMIS, as explained in Chapter 8.5.3.
