5.5.2 Polygons

The concept of drawing ‘precise’ parcels is the same as for ‘precise’ lines, as explained in the previous Chapter 5.5.1. Temporary UPN numbers will be assigned to all parcels, but a thorough check will have to be done through the GIS quality-control function (see Chapter 8.1.3).

Note: Features described below are not part of standard Map Maker. They have been developed at LUPMP in Ghana to handle parcels at Local Plan level (Planning Permit, Building Permit, drawing of parcels). For external technical inquiries, feel free to contact us ( email).

-
Parcel

A parcel is drawn with all sides of the parcel defined in distances and bearings. Beforehand, the starting point (normally the top left corner) has to be set. See also instructions on defining lines in the previous Chapter (5.5.1).

-
Parcel (+ copies)

Similar to the parcel draw option, but with multiple copies to the right and / or up. Transformation angles for the copying process different to 90° can be defined (see also illustrations below).

-
Rectangular parcel

A rectangular parcel as a specific shape with 90° angles of the sides of the parcel can be defined to fasten the process.

-
Rectangular parcel (+ copies)

A combination of drawing rectangular parcels in multiple copies is illustrated below.

If the angle is default of 90°, the parcels are oriented in W-E and N-S direction, see below:

If the transformation angle for the the copying process is specified, the copy process will follow that oblique angle, see below:

Be aware, that with this option of mulitple copies the angles, which define the rectangle, are adjusted, i.e. they do not remain 90 and 0 degrees.

- Import planning scheme template

In future, templates will be distributed, which can then be multiplied and copied into the planning scheme. First test templates are available.

Note: These planning scheme templates have following requirements: Top left as starting point / file in xy format (coordinates) with xyt extension / file reside in folder C:\LUPMIS\Permits\Support / all x values > 999 / all labels start with 'Object'.
